LSFMD |-| Mission Statement and Priorities
Quote:LSFMD |-| LSFMD's Mission Statement and Priorities
Chief of Fire & Medical Max C Yamaguchi
53rd Administration
Verdant Bluffs, Los Santos.
LSFMD’s purpose is to save all civilians regardless of their ethnicity, sexuality, religion, or organizational affinity. LSFMD is a Government funded organization that serves the betterment of public health.
Where appropriate, LSFMD will make every endeavor to save every patient. This means that –
· Medics will have no expectation under any circumstance to ‘let someone die’ because they have been instructed to do so.
· Medics have the right to defend their patient against hostility (including with the use of their state-issued weapons) and should be supported by Law Enforcement in doing so.
During situations where Law Enforcement Officials are involved:
· Medics should make every effort to prioritize Law Enforcement Officials – where there are multiple victims, an LEO should take priority.
· If a medic has already actively been assigned (( /getpt )) to a patient, they may serve that patient over a Law Enforcement Official who subsequently falls. They are not required to ‘drop’ a patient as no life is more valuable than another.
· However, they are still required to save all individuals, even if they are active combatants against LEOs.
(( OOC ))
· Harassment of Medics for saving gang members in turf will not be upheld. It is a Faction Management prerogative that LSFMD should save everyone on a turf. If this is taken to the extreme, then Faction Management action will be taken for creating Faction Tension.
Right to refusal. There is an ongoing perspective that medics are a sub-class and beneath other factions, with many medics reporting routine abuse from patients.
Medics exist to help you reduce your losses after death and ultimately spend their time ferrying you around to avoid you losing more than you otherwise would.
· In instances where medics have been harassed (through verbal or physical abuse, either IC or OOC), medics will not be required to save the patient and will reserve the right to refuse treatment.
· In this instance and where the medic cites harassment, no internal action will be taken against the medic for refusing to tend to the patient. It is recommended that in this instance, medics screenshot the harassment.
· This extends to all patients; whether gang members, faction members or civilians.
